Oops

Five police cars and an ambulance that got lost. Took a direct hit from a van up on Draughton Heights today. Lying in the road for 40 minutes. No idea how the KTM is, but it seems I will live to ride another day.
Back home now. Thank you to my Arai helmet and Forcefield back protector. Both proved their worth.

Roger good to hear that you are ok. Lets have some details - did the van driver stop? Peter

It was the usual scenario.
The van was coming out of a farm track. I saw him stop, and thought OK, all is clear. When I was about 20 metres away he decided to pull out. I tried to go round the 'wrong' side. Didn't make it. Usual contact, over the bars, and a heavy landing. Road blocked for an hour as I refused to move, thinking I had broken my leg. Ambulance got lost, but there were 5 police cars there!!! A sixth turned round when they realised there was no fatality!
No lasting damage to me and the KTM looks remarkably straight. It might get written off though. I cannot praise Carol Nash enough. They have taken control of the situation. Fantastic. I had only been with them for 3 days!!!

What a bummer. Glad you're OK. Hope they 'throw the book' at the van driver.

At least you are OK. I lost my first MZ rather in that manner. I also remember "Eggs" crash back in Manchester when his MSS was demolished, when a van pulled across his path, IIRC.
