End of season

Well, that seems to be it.
With the salt going down and no longer having a Winter bike (not worth having as all the green lanes round here are shut) it seems that another season is over.
Highlights of the last year:-
  • My BMW gets better every year (over 30,000 miles now, almost run-in). The people who change their bikes after only 3-4,000 miles don't know what they are missing.
  • Riding a KTM 990 SM. Fantastic.
  • Riding a Yamaha T-Max scooter and wondering how the owner can always get there before me. (or anyone else for that matter. Ask Mr Barrett)
  • Irish racing. Has to be witnessed to be believed. Made possible by all the cheap flights on offer. Next year we are contemplating a cheap flight to Barcelona, hiring a few GS1200 BMW's for 2 days and 'do' the Pyrenees.
Finally, nothing to do with motorbikes, but allow me to share something magic. The first mainline highspeed run of the first new express locomotive to be built in the UK in 50 years. I watched it at Northallerton. Talk about hairs on the back of your neck.
