Dear all,
Brilliant trip - great weather, company, food and drink.
Dave, John and I went Plymouth to Roscoff overnight and camped half way, near Melles. Continuing next day to Mark’s where a fantastic BBQ was laid on and we were introduced to the local Artisanal beer.
Following day set the pattern of the visit - breakfast in Marks kitchen and the first engineering seminar of the day, followed by a trip to a local market about 20 miles away, on fantastic roads. Lunch from 12 to 2 in a fine restaurant along with technical discussions, then back to base and another BBQ, Beer and wine.
On the Tuesday it was the same formula but we went to the Brough Superior set up near Toulouse - fantastic trip which others will describe better than me. We met a chap called John who was at UMIST in 71 and had an Ariel Arrow. He says he went on a club run but the bike seized up or something and he didn’t come again,. He now has a New Bonneville and lives near Mark. Anyone remember him? I remember a ride in Derbyshire and something happening on the Leek Ashbourne road and feeling guilty in some way, but can’t recall the detail.
John and I set off on the Wednesday at 0730 and got to Falaise just south of Caen at 1700 - about 550 miles…Camped there and leisurely hop to Cherbourg 100 miles up the way. 3 Hour trip on fast ferry to Portsmouth then 4 hours back to Manchester.

The ACE cafĂ© on the North Circular was suggested as an option for next year’s meeting.
Any other business:
So much had been eaten and drunk so much by this point that the Chair had to go for a lie down in his tent.
