Bike71 EGM at Vaour, France

A short note about my - our - week in France. I left Lincoln Friday morning and after a short stop at my son's house near Portsmouth I got the night ferry Portsmouth - Caen. A chilly start but French roads are empty especially on a Saturday (and a Sunday and usually Monday!). a stop for coffe and croissants and than plat du jour lunch. Too much. Camped that night at Le Dorat (north of Limoges).
Started to rain at 2am and didn't top for the next 24 hours. Not nice putting a tent away in the rain. I had hoped to have a nice liesurely jaunt on back roads to teh next campsite but as it was raining  I instead opted for the motorway as you can guarantee petrol and coffee and also another very good lunch. Got to Camping Le Paradis a 5 star very posh place for a very wet biker.
Ken and Russ turned up as the rain eased and pitched on my plot. A drink in the bar, and I adjourned to bed early when Ken and Russ went through to the restaurant for evening dinner.
Next morning it was damp but the roads were drying and we had a great run over some back roads to Marks place near the village of Vaour. Much talking followed with grilled chops and salad. Mark had arranged for two of us to use the gite of a friend in the village. Ken "volunteered" to camp. Russ and I enjoyed two nights of luxury.
Tuesday - nice slow start with coffee and coissants. Dave had turned up by then from Portugal on a BMW 650. 3 nights it took - a long and hard journey. Then a run (in Marks cars) to  Penne for lunch  with the whole team - Mark, Eliane (Mark's wife) Dave Ken Russ and me.An excellent lunch followed a a walk around the ruined castle - its a medieval village and the castle is perched on top of a mountain. Mark and Eliane had prepared a chicken casserole with home grown ingrdients - lovely. The EGM was called to order and Ken chaired and took minutes.
Wednesday came to soon - whilst Dave syaed to recover from his epic ride Ken and Russ turned right to go to teh Millau Bridge and I turned left to head north to visit on friend from Lincoln who lives in Normandy.
We all got home safely on Sautuday.
It was agreed - see minutes! - that this EGM would be an annual event. Lets make it so.
Many thanks to Mark and Eliane for their hospitality.

It sounds like I missed a good 'do'.
I'll try to make it next year.
Any more pictures?
