Re-union

It’s that time of year again.
The Motorcycle Show at Gmex is on the 11 and 12 of January.
We tend to choose that weekend for our ‘get together’ just in case anyone actually wants to go.
Any thought on next year’s ‘do’?
Is the 12th OK?
I got the feeling this year that the food wasn’t as good as previously.
Anyone got any thoughts on an alternative venue.
We could push the boat out and go to Rosso (http://www.rossorestaurants.com/), or find a cosy pub somewhere.
I think that most of us drive there, so it doesn’t have to be central, but I do feel that we should stay loyal to Manchester.
This year should see Steve with us again and I believe that Pete is threatening to join us. I hope that Phil Deacon can make it. What about Terry? Eldon? Mark?

I have taken off the restriction on who can comment, so if anyone outside of this blog wishes to leave a comment, please do so. Anything inappropriate will be removed!!!

Sorry, but I think I shall have to miss it yet again. The B***** Tax people are still demanding monies back and the overdraft, though less daunting than it was, still prevents overseas trips at present.
Of course, the lack of a current passport doesn't help. The cost of a new one is scandalous.

12th is OK for me and the 'proper' day to have it, in my view. I think food is secondary to tomfoolery and we do need somewhere to ourselves to hold 'the AGM'. In that respect Dom whatsit was OK but I don't mind where we go and a large round table for ease of banter would be even better - if the locals know of anywhere. Preferably within reach of public transport. As for Rosso, I think we need to sensitive to the fact that some of our number are now eeking out an existence on meagre pensions.
Luxury is a thing of the past and they even rely on government handouts to help buy coal for the fire. (Thinking about it, you may be getting that handout but will have the bonus of keeping warm at work too).
