Well spotted, but apart from import duties, VAT, trying to find someone to match original finish, where's the challenge in that? I have in mind either to hide a tank in a tankbag or do something like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Norton-Commando-/321231343742. Or both. Welding skills permitting. After all we retirees have plenty of playtime on our hands.............
When I had a Venom Clubman in the 1970s it had a 4.25 gallon tank with a tank cover with Velocette tank badges tacked on.
When I removed the cover I could see why!
It was finally repaired and repainted, even down to the gold line done at the Velo dealer in Thame, Oxon.
