 There is an interesting 'Ariel' 3 or 4 pics down. Perhaps the Velo boys out there can enlighten us as to what it actually is - Desmo perhaps?

1950's alloy MAC engine. Pre-war Velo gearbox. Don't recognise frame/forks, and petrol tank must have a section for oil too - so perhaps it's those bits which are Ariel.

Reminds me of someone I knew who married a pushrod Velo bottom end to a Manx Norton top end, added an external flywheel and took it drag-racing!
One day I saw it wrecked in his garage.
He said he had been accelerating hard when he saw the external flywheel detach as the plot slowed. First and only time I've seen a Velo crankcase in more than two pieces!
