On Thursday I took Christina to the Dentist in the nearest town, Hoorn. There is a dentist in Obdam, where we live, but he is an incompetent butcher. We went on the MZ, since Chris loathes the Guzzi after she burnt her leg on the exhaust system, and also the saddles turned out to be too short after all. I find myself almost sitting on the tank, making gear changes problematic at best.,
While the MZ was parked in the tandart's (Dutch for dentist) car park, it was reversed into by a car and ended on its side with a smashed mirror, bent footrest, dented tank and other not easily diagnosed problems. The bastard car driver got out, checked there was no damage to his own car then drove off!
He had been seen, however, by a witness in the office across the road. She noted the kenteken (no. plate) and his description and phoned the receptionist at the dentist. The receptionist recognised the bastard from the description as he also registered with the dentist and after discussions with her and the witness I visited the police. I had noticed him when we arrived but nothing more.
Today I was able to report the whole tale and I understand the bastard (who apparently is a Turk, very common here) will hopefully have the book thrown at him.
Meanwhile, with the add of hammers and a long piece of gas pipe, I have straightened out most of the damage. There is still a noise, though, when only two up. I suspect the rear tyre is rubbing against possibly the indicator or that the centre stand has been distorted. Careful investigation will tell. MZs are tough!

Now you can make it into something really good.
See my comment against Keith's post.

Most commendable: your use of a bike for day-to-day transport - rather as a plaything on sunny days, as most of us do these days.
The noise I mentioned was the indicator rubbing against the tyre when riding 2-up, fixed by bending the rear mudguard back into shape.
Since neither Chris nor I have ever had a car, let alone the driving license for one, a motorcycle and push bikes are OK. There are some nice country lanes for cycling around here, normally in summer.
