Who is interested in another meet up in Manchester again?
Due to the fact that I work, it will have to be a weekend or during the shutdown.
Who is up for it?
ME! If you can pick the date of the Beezumph 21 rally. The date is not yet set but my wife is hoping it is the same weekend as the National Quilting Festival at NEC. She goes a-quilting and I go a-biking. Peter PS What shutdown?? I am currently planning 12 station shutdowns next year!
Personally the Christmas break period could be problematic. What about the Sunday of the 2012 Show which is 15 Jan. Those who want to, can go to the Show too - although I for one would be happy just to have a meal together, same venue, and just catch up. Although all remeniscing about the Edale Rally would have to be banned this year.
Peter, I will try and get to Beezumph in 2012 provided dates are OK. I am able to ride further now but failing that I can get a train to Ty Croes (assume it will be held there again) if someone could collect me. Anyway, we'll see closer to the date.
Just if anyone is interested I have started sticking stuff on utube. That's the bits of camcordering I did in the 90's. It's all bike stuff and a load of rubbish. I will post the channel link on the main blog as it doesn't seem to work here. Even viewers from Herzegovina as they say in the Eurovision Song contest (actually hits from much further afield too). Another timewaster for winter evenings................
Jan 15 is good for me. Just because we do it in January, doesn't stop us doing it again later in the year. We could get together when Pete comes and again for when Mark comes, and again for when Terry comes---- anyone else live overseas? I love s good social do!
Damn. I will be in the UK - well Scotland for the 12th January as I will be bringing youngest daughter back to Aberdeen after her Christmas holidays. But it would be good to organise something later in the year.
When I said shutdowns I mean Oil Producing Stations in the Oman desert. We have yearly maintenance and engineering to do and these stations can produce upto 20000 m3 of oil per day (=130000 barrels x 60 dollars = 7,800,000 USD). They collect the oil from beam pump wells, dewater and degas it and then pump it to the coast for refining and export. Its the risk though of making sure that we can start up again after we have shut down. Each shutdown lasts about 2 - 3 days. We start the planning 6 months at least before each shutdown. Want a job??
