Riding

Well, it looks like this is the end of the riding season.
In years gone by, I would be dusting off the Husqvarna ready for a winter of greenlaning, but thanks to the NIMBY Ramblers Assoc. all the proper green lanes in Yorkshire are closed.
So now it is going to be a season of mountain biking instead.
In actual fact I have covered more miles on a bicycle this year than on the motorcycle.
Riding highlights have been when we set off early on a Sunday to get up north of Teesdale. There is a cafe at Hartside Summit that is such a magnet for bikers as the surrounding roads are stupendous. Other memorable runs are the Trough of Bowland and the dash down Swaledale before anyone else arrives.
The 'old' BMW still continues to give sterling service, but is now without the pillion seat and all the tools.
One morning, after a quick run up Mallerstang we stopped at Pendragon Castle to find that the catch holding the pillion pad on hadn't engaged correctly(my fault) and the seat had fallen off between home and our stop. The tools had gone as well. The chances of finding them by backtracking were remote, so we just carried on. The new svelte streamline look can be seen in the picture I posted a few weeks ago on Grewelthorpe Moor.
This year I have not had much chance to ride other bikes apart from the KTM, but that still remains as one of the most accomplished bikes I have ridden.
BTW, a friend has an immaculate, very low mileage Moto Guzzi V11 for sale quite cheap.
Anyone interested?
