Spring

Just kicked the tyres of the old BM.
All seems OK for the first run of the season tomorrow.
Anyone else riding?

Hi,
I have a trip planned tomorrow to my favourite shop Luchtvaart near Schipol. Since my last trip there my kilometerage has been about 400km but the odometer has a 'thing' about winding on from 99,100km, winding BACK on short rides! I am hoping that a longish ride (circa 140km) will take the distance travelled beyond the worn part of the odometer.
Meanwhile, thinking that a hired bike would be the solution to my England plans next year, there is a shop in Uithoorn that hires out the Suzuki scooter at a reasonable cost. Comments please.

Actually, what is wrong with coming on the MZ?
If it breaks down you just leave it and catch a train.

I have thought about it but the MZ is old and also only a 300cc machine with a comfortable speed of only 90kph (55mph)two up - rather slow and uncomfortable for long distances.
Meanwhile the odometer seems past the worn bit: hey ho to 100,000km.
Finally, I am disposing of the Morini. I haven't the resouces currently to fix it and even if I did, by the time it was finished my hips would be too knackered to start or ride it!

Hi, guys

And here's me thinking I might have to put the bikes away as its getting a bit hot here. Midday its 33 deg.
Went out on the BM a few weeks ago. 750 km round trip. Started at 6.00 am, just after dawn. 300 kms down to SUR on a lovely new dual carriageway with no traffic. HAd breakfast and thne back through Mentirab where the Empty Quarter starts (the desert). back to Muscat via Ibri. Beautiful.
Will be in the UK in mid July to collect youngest daughter for her summer holidays in Oman. I hope to synchronise this withe the TR#OC rally / track day. This year its on Anglesey.

Ride safe.

Peter
