Attached are photos of:
The most evil bike I have owned. When I first the BSA Spitfire I stopped to check the frame to see if it was broken.
The Rocket Gold Star that was the genuine thing, but which I 'enhanced' with a screen like a sail.
The proof that Hondas were not unbustable like they told me.
The Rickman that has evidence of the high levels of care and attention I give all my bikes.

I used to know someone in the 70's who raced a Spitfire (went on to be Hillgate Vincent's 'works' rider on their comet based 'Grey Flash')and he was at pains to explain that poor handling and poor roadholding did not necessarily go together. Although his bike was a pig round corners (handling)he discovered he was going no slower than anyone else (roadholding)- so provided he was brave enough to hang on he still managed to get into the results. Vibration was another story altogether. I have pictures of him at Darley Moor hairpin with and without nearside silencer on consecutive laps.
