It's all a matter of choice

We had a run out today. 5 bikes, and all twins.
This got me thinking.
Does anyone out there own a multi? (4cyls 0r more).
I can't think of any, and the only triple I know of is Pete's.
Is it an age thing?

PS
Talking of age, check out the background - the reason for stopping.
Years ago it was for cigs, now it's the 'call of nature'

So who owns the other KTM? Are they as good as the comics say?

It is owned by Pete, an old (or not so old) friend of mine (on right)
He had a BMW GS1200 Adventure before. Hated that, loves this!!!
Reliability could be an issue though. (see Mr. Barrett)

As I recall from a trip to the Lakes, one stop was to allow someone (who?) to tip the water from his boots alongside Wastwater.
Can't remember exactly how his boots filled up, but a few years later Belstaff or Barbour bought out a new range of waterproofs, the trousers of which fitted INSIDE the boots! I did check but never received a convincing answer.
Lastly, on a related point, I used to visit the North London VOC in the early 1970s. One evening, a member, who was a journalist, turned up on a new MV Agusta multi, which he was test riding. That night on the way home it rained - hard. When we saw him again, he reported that the rain caused his lights to fail on his way home. He checked and found that the dynamo was mounted below the engine and ran on an exposed belt! QED. When he mentioned this to the importer there was a pained silence before the importer said 'You took our bike out ....... in the RAIN!!!!'

Is that the trip to the Lakes when You fell off your FB down Langdale?

Yes. The footrest bent and Ken kindly said he would straighten it. He broke it off with a lump of rock from a dry stone wall! For the rest of the trip I had to use a pair of mole grips for a footrest!
